Visiting NASA’s Building 836 at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB). This location serves as a communications center for the Launch Services Program (LSP). It can support any launch around the world.

Today your favorite United States Air Force / United States Space Force Entertainment Liaison Office visited Space Launch Delta 30 at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Public Affairs rockstars Jennifer Green-Lanchoney and Patrick Harrower shared their time to introduce the new Liaison Office Director, LtCol Gina McKeen, to the base mission. Jennifer and Patrick highlighted the MANY amazing visuals there that make for great filming opportunities. Whether depicting a Space Launch Complex, a “mission control”-type operations center, or the usual military imagery like security forces or training facilities, Vandy has it!

Aside from this, they showed us how Vandenberg is about much more than just Space Launch. Environmentally, the base is a leading installation in protecting 17 different endangered/threatened species, as well as being home to more than 53 types of mammals and 315 types of birds. The amount of effort it takes to execute the Space mission while still exercising care and respect for the environment and wildlife is incredible.

It’s always a good day to connect with fellow Public Affairs peeps .. It’s an even better day when learning from them! These are the types of excursions I’ll miss when I take off the uniform soon.
